Last week, Alconet B.V. has donated mouth masks to Dutch care providers. Alconet B.V. had maks in storage for repairing and maintaining containers. These masks comply with the strict criteria for personal protective equipment. Despite the fact that recently a shipment of thousands of mouth masks entered the country, the demand for mouth masks and other protective equipment is still large. It is not yet known how much is needed and what The Netherlands is facing in terms of COVID-19 casualties.
Alconet B.V. feels good to be able to make a contribution, even though it may be a drop in the ocean. Also internally we have taken various measures as to stop/slow the spreading of COVID-19. Truck drivers entering our depot to (un)load containers have to comply with strict measures. All in all, these are turbulent times but we do the best we can to keep the distribution in the port going, while setting the protection of our employees as the number one priority.
